Tamatha Rutherford MCD,CCC/SLP
Speech Language Pathologist
Owner and Operator of Swallowing Specialists of Central Ga, LLC, Tamatha Rutherford is a speech-language pathologist who has been practicing since 1993 with the adult population. Her experience has been in all environments: home health, skilled nursing, independent living, acute care hospital, and inpatient rehabilitation hospitals as well as palliative care.
Then in 2018, after 17 years in the hospital environment, she wanted to do more. Tamatha wanted to provide care for patient before they became ill enough to be hospitalized, to assist with recovery from swallowing issues, whatever the cause.
Tamatha, is a graduate of Auburn University with her Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology. She is a three-time ACE award winner for continuing education, provides direct one on one patient care. Tamatha specializes in swallowing disorders but enjoys working in all areas of adult rehabilitation for communication as well as cognition. And most importantly, you will always see her for your appointments. She is a resident of Monroe County, Georgia with her husband and two children.
Romona Foster
Medical Office Assistant
Romona Foster is currently a Medical Office Assistant at Swallowing Specialists of Central Georgia, LLC. Romona knew by the age of 15 that she wanted to follow in her adoptive parent’s footsteps and join the medical community where she could make a difference. She received her degree from Pasco-Hernando Community College in 1988, after graduation she began her 30 year career in her adoptive fathers General Practice where she worked as his Medical Secretary/Assistant until his retirement in 1995. Romona moved to Forsyth Georgia with her husband of 37 years and their 2 sons and enjoys spending her free time with her grandchildren and her 2 dogs.
Romona has remained in the medical community for the last 23 years. Her experience ranges from General Practice, Cardiology, Pulmonology, Podiatry, Internal Medicine, Surgical Oncology and Cardio-Vascular Surgery. Whether it is in the front office or the back office Romona is ready to handle your scheduling needs as accurately and efficiently as possible.
